The Legacy Center is proud to offer world class services and facilities for the sport of Wrestling to the Livingston County area. Train, play, and experience Wrestling like the pros do with professional grade courts, training areas, and the most premier programming in the state.

We aim to accommodate athletes of all levels (Recreational, Select, Elite) and will assist them in achieving their short and long term goals related to the world of sports. We also offer complimentary products and services that will develop the Player, the Athlete and the Person on and off the field, and help them build their own Legacy.

Meet the Wrestling Team

Kyle Hansen boasts a resume of success in the sport of wrestling, dating back to his collegiate wrestling days at the University of Northern Iowa. At UNI, Hansen dominated opponents and earned NCAA Division I All-American honors twice. Following his time as a collegiate wrestler, Kyle went on to earn two master’s degrees from Ohio University in Coaching Education and Education Administration, and he also served as the Head Assistant Wrestling Coach at Ohio from 2005 to 2015. Throughout his time at Ohio University, Hansen coached numerous MAC Champions, NCAA qualifiers and All-Americans. In addition to his experience as a college coach, Kyle also has experience coaching wrestlers outside of college as he also acted as a Team Ohio Junior National Team Coach and a Personal Coach for FILA JR World Championships.

The Legacy Center Wrestling Organization will also be headed by Ryan Hope, a 2020 Olympic wrestling hopeful. During his college career, Ryan attended Northern Michigan University as a resident athlete at the university’s Olympic Training Center. Following his time in college, Ryan went on to become a member of the Cliff Keen Wrestling Club, and this year, at the 2016 Olympic Team Trials, he finished in the top eight. Ryan now has his sights set on Tokyo and the 2020 Olympics, and he plans to spend the next four years training to represent his country on the world’s highest stage.

One of the most accomplished high school wrestlers of all time in the state of Michigan, Jordan Thomas, is joining the Legacy Center Wrestling Organization.  A native of Greenville, Michigan, Thomas only lost 3 high school wrestling matches.  He finished his high school career a three time state champion and once runner-up.  Thomas posted a 219-3 career record, including a 109-0 mark his final two seasons.  Thomas was a senior national runner-up and a four time Fargo freestyle All-American.  He continued his career at the University of Michigan where he was multiple time letter winner and ultimately a graduate in the school of Business.

Taylor Massa, considered by many one of the best high school wrestlers of all time, has joined the Legacy Wrestling Organization.   Massa finished his prep career an undefeated four-time State Champion with a record of 231-0.   He is a two-time USAW Junior FILA National Champion and a 2011 FILA Junior Freestyle World Team member. He claimed four Cadet National titles (two in freestyle and two in Greco-Roman) and was the ASICS High School Wrestler of the year his senior year.  Massa also won the prestigious Super 32 and Flo-nationals.  He continued his career at the University of Michigan where he was a two-time NCAA qualifier for the Wolverines.
